5 Steps to ASIS Certification

Steps to Certification

  1. Identifying the best ASIS certification and
    determining your eligibility.

ASIS offers three unique and distinct certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), and Physical Security Professional (PSP). Your individual experience, knowledge, and skills will determine the best certification for you. Refer to the Certification Applicant Handbook for details.
  2. Submitting an application.
Applying for your certification is quick and easy. Complete yourapplication online or download a paper application and submit
    by mail.
  3. Preparing for the exam.
All three ASIS certifications require passage of an in-depth examination. Candidates are encouraged to use a combination of several preparation methods and resources. Each certification has a set of reference books from which all exam questions are derived. ASIS also offers classroom and online reviews and other materials to supplement your preparation.
  4. Scheduling the exam.
Computer-based certification exams are offered at Prometric testing centers across the U.S. and Canada. One call to a Prometric representative is all it takes to schedule your exam. Contact ASIS for detailed information on international exam schedules and locations.
  5. Taking the exam.
Once approved by ASIS, you may take your exam anytime within a two-year period of eligibility.
